The most favorable conditions for the use of dogs for the purpose of drug detection are:

In summer, when the soil is moist (after rain and during dew), the temperature is up to +30°C and there is a headwind, steady and fresh;

In winter, with a light headwind and air temperature not lower than -20°C;

In rooms with a uniform air flow created by cross-ventilation or a fan.

Drug detection by dogs is also facilitated by depressurization of packaging and changes in atmospheric pressure.

Unfavorable factors for drug detection dogs include: windless, hot and dry weather,
Stagnant indoor air. Sniffer dogs may not detect drugs if they are sealed in a sealed container or buried deep in the ground. In some cases, especially after prolonged storage, drugs change their odor, and in this case, sniffing dogs may also be ineffective.
