Fyodor Fyodorovich Matyushkin (1799-1872) Lyceum friend of A.S. Pushkin. A member of Baron Wrangel's expedition. Using dog sleds, he described the banks of the Bolshoi and Maly Anyuy rivers and the tundra east of Kolyma. Wrangel named one of the capes he described in Chaunskaya Bay "Cape Matyushkina."
