For exemplary performance of command assignments, the 2nd separate special services regiment, which distinguished itself in the battles for the city of Kielce (Poland), was awarded the name Kielce.
For exemplary performance of command assignments in battles with the German invaders during the capture of the city and fortress of Glogau and the valor and courage displayed in doing so, the 2nd Separate Special Services Regiment was awarded the Order of Alexander Nevsky.
For exemplary performance of command assignments during the battles to break through German defenses on the Neisse River and capture the cities of Cottbus, Lübben, Zossen, Beelitz, Luckenwalde, Treuenbrietzen, Zena, Marienfelde, Trebbin, Rangsdorf, and Diedersdorf, and for the valor and courage displayed during these battles, the 2nd Separate Special Services Regiment was awarded the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky, 2nd Class. Organizationally, the 2nd Separate Special Services Regiment was part of the 3rd Guards Army of the Southwestern Front.
The regiment had 888 dogs of various special services.
