The 1st OPSS began its combat activities from the moment of its formation, but its main and responsible work began on August 1, 1943.
From August 7 to 11, the regiment’s units found and defused 3,327 enemy mines, evacuated 4,200 seriously wounded from the battlefield, and delivered 990 combat reports and orders.
