A REMINDER FOR THE LEADERS OF SLED SERVICE DOGS
1. Never punish a dog without reason.
2. Punish in such a way that the dog understands why it is being punished.
3. Don't take out your bad mood on dogs; treat all dogs equally, calmly and evenly.
4. Be patient when training and preparing dogs.
5. It is easier to train a new dog than to correct a frightened and downtrodden one.
6. Study your dogs well, their behavior and character. In some cases, affection helps, in others, punishment, and in others, both.
7. Train your dogs daily.
8. While working, feed the dogs enough once a day at night, after finishing work. If the work is very hard, the dog can be given break time, some food. 9. Make sure all dogs work well. Lazy ones exhaust the diligent ones.
10. Don't give dogs too many breaks. Frequent breaks spoil dogs; they become lazy, lethargic, and "lie around."
After 2 hours, take a 10-15 minute break.
After 4 hours, rest for 1 hour.
The standard amount is per dog per day.
1. Meat (cow) - 400 g.
2. Rye bread 300 g.
3. Oatmeal 400 g or bran 500 g.
