The following types of special installations for transportation were used in units and subdivisions of medical sled dogs
Wounded and cargo in summer and winter:

Three- or four-tailed sleds;
Grishin-Golubev ski installation;
Drag boat;
Wheeled stretcher unit;
Wheeled installation for laying telephone lines.
The sleds were made like northern sleds, mostly light-weight, but skis were used as runners.
There were times when the necessary equipment wasn't available during the transition from summer to winter. So, the handy leaders would craft drag boats and sleds from whatever was at hand.
