Veterok (Wind) and Ugolyok (Coal) were the last two canine cosmonauts to complete the longest flight. They launched on February 22, 1966. The flight lasted 22 days.
The flight of Veterok and Ugolko was supposed to solve two main problems:
-Is it possible for a person to stay in zero gravity conditions for a long time?
-How dangerous are the transitions from prolonged weightlessness to artificially increased gravity, overloads and gravity?

Veterok and Ugolyok are preparing for flight.
After the flight, Veterok and Ugolyok lived in the vivarium of the Institute of Biomedical Problems of the Russian Academy of Sciences until old age; both produced healthy offspring.
