In Vienna, you told me that you enjoy collecting ship models. I'm pleased to send you a model of an American whaling ship, which I mentioned to you in one of our conversations. This model, made of carrot wood and whalebone, was made from memory by a talented, self-taught Chukchi craftsman. Such steam-sailing vessels were used in the late 19th century in the Chukchi Sea for whaling and called at Russian ports. I would be delighted if a model of this ship could be added to your collection.

Nina Petrovna and I are also pleased to fulfill Mrs. Kennedy's request and send you and your family a little «Pushinka» - a direct descendant of the famous space traveler «Strelka», who flew on a spaceship on August 19, 1960 and returned safely to Earth.
I would like to express the hope that the model of the ship and the Pushinka will bring you pleasure and will serve as a good memory of some meetings and conversations in Vienna.

I would like to take this opportunity to convey from Nina Petrovna and myself personally the best wishes to you, your wife, and your entire family.

Sincerely,
Nikita Sergeevich Khrushchev.
To Mr. John Fitzgerald Kennedy.
