To study the potential consequences of rocket flights into the upper atmosphere, dogs were thoroughly examined before and after the flight. The examination included blood and urine tests, X-rays, electrocardiography, blood pressure measurements, respiratory and pulse recordings, temperature, and body weight. In the period immediately preceding the experiment, the dogs were weighed daily on an empty stomach at 9:30 a.m. and before their second meal at 4:30 p.m.
