Clown Boris Petrovich Vyatkin found his first dog in a snowdrift while on tour. The foundling was named «Kroshka.» The little one turned out to be a very talented performer: she danced, «sang,» performed all sorts of acrobatic tricks, and even sneezed on command.

Boris Vyatkin and his dog Kroshka fought throughout the Great Patriotic War, performing in a front-line brigade of circus performers.

Boris Vyatkin named Kroshka's dog's daughter Manon, as she was born in a European city. But during one of his performances, Boris Vyatkin couldn't get Manon's attention, and then, losing his patience, the clown shouted, «Manyunya!» This came as a surprise to both Vyatkin and Manon. From then on, all the dogs Boris Vyatkin owned were named Manyunya.
