The 1st Army Fighter Detachment, stationed in the village of Savelovo (detachment commander Major K.A. Lebedev), and the 2nd Army Fighter Detachment, stationed in the city of Perovo (detachment commander Captain N.I. Musiychenko), fought in the battles near Moscow.

According to veterans of the front, the first person to blow up a German tank in the Great Patriotic War was a mongrel dog, Irma.

This happened on July 27, 1941 near the village of Rogachevo (Dmitrovsky district, Moscow region).

From the report of the commander of the 2nd Guards Division, Colonel A.Z. Akimenko (Bryansk Front, October 14, 1941):

“The use of tank-destroying dogs yielded excellent results in the area of the 160th Rifle Division in the Glukhov region on September 24, 1941. Six dogs destroyed five enemy tanks.”
