Alexander Pavlovich Mazover (1905-1981) commanded the 37th OBSM from May 1943. From Polotsk to Königsberg, the «No Mines!» sign is displayed, and beneath the inscription are dog ears and the number «37»—the signature safety sign of Mazover's battalion. After the war, he worked in service dog clubs and authored many books on dog breeding.
